Saint-Gabriel Beach

Our recent day trip to Saint-Gabriel Municipal Beach on the shores of Lake Maskinongé was nothing short of spectacular. Though the beach isn’t huge, it offers a multitude of activities and beautiful views that make it a must-visit destination.

We arrived at 4 PM, which seems late but turned out to be the perfect time. The entrance fee was $10 per adult, and kids got in for free. The reception closes at 5 PM, but the lifeguards stay on duty until 6 PM. After that, you can continue to swim without supervision, which we did, staying until 8 PM. As the beach-goers who had been there all day started to leave, the beach became less crowded, giving us more space to relax and have fun.

The water at Saint-Gabriel Municipal Beach is relatively shallow for the most part, making it perfect for families with children. However, you can swim more freely at the deeper end, and there is nothing like a fresh, cool dip in the lake to rejuvenate you.

The beach was bustling with activity. There were BBQs, a volleyball court, and a restaurant, ensuring there was something for everyone. The facilities were excellent, with bathrooms, changing rooms, and a drinking water fountain. For those needing it, the beach is wheelchair accessible with a beach mat, and adapted equipment is available free of charge. Additionally, water sport rentals are available right by the beach at Courant Marin.

The drive was an hour and a half, but it was definitely worth it. We had a lot of fun in the sun, made some wonderful memories, and enjoyed the stunning views of Lake Maskinongé. Saint-Gabriel Municipal Beach is a fantastic spot for a family day trip, offering a perfect blend of relaxation and activity. We can't wait to go back!
